Each year, two artists are honored for their photography or film-based works that reveal the complex interrelationships between humans and nature, the environment, and technical images. This year Lisa Barnard and Isadora Romero are the winners of the annual After Nature - The Ulrike Crespo Photography Prize.

In Notes On How to Build a Forest, Isadora Romero uses two cloud forests in Ecuador to examine the coexistence of humans and forests in the past, present, and future. It is a narrative about the spiritual, political, and ecological dimensions of the forest, shaped as much by indigenous knowledge as by old and new technologies.
